The MIS sync process runs on a weekly basis to avoid unnecessary updates on a daily basis. The great news is you have full control and flexibility to run the sync whenever you require in between.
What notifications do I get as the MIS integration Admin?
The MIS in Learning Ladders will only receive one summary report a week of any changes to parent or student information. The 'Synchronise Now' function offers you more flexibility to run the sync when you need to.
Where do I find the 'Synchronise Now' button?
Settings > Settings > MIS Integration and scroll to the bottom of the page to find 'Synchronise Now' underneath the explanation.
What happens if I click 'Synchronise Now' button?
The system will confirm to you what is happening in the process as it goes along to keep you informed. It's important that you do not close the window whilst it runs. The Synchronise Now triggers an update from your MIS to your Learning Ladders, outside of the regular weekly sync.
Is it necessary to click on 'Synchronise Now'
No! The sync will run weekly on a Sunday if you do not click 'Synchronise Now' and so there is no need to click anything if you do not require an update in between. Synchronise Now is useful where you may have updated many student records and require reports immediately to reflect these changes.
Improved sync reporting
We've taken the opportunity to build in an extra protection of your data during the sync. If the sync attempts to make changes to more than 20% of your students your MIS admin will receive an on screen message (if running the sync manually), or an email informing them that the sync has not completed.
One of the team will be in touch to discuss the cause and get you back up and running. This will prevent the integration from making unintended changes. |
