Insights: Subject Reports

Insights allows Subject and Phase leaders to see more granular detail about each subject or year group.

To use Subject Reports click on ‘Subject Leaders’ on the Insights main page. ‘Subject Reports’ allow you to select one subject but multiple terms.

Click on ‘Subject Leaders Report’.

NB: It will automatically select the academic year 2017/18.

Click on the ‘Target Group’ and add selection(s).

You will be able to select from ‘Classes& Groups’, ‘Teachers’, ‘Year Groups’, ‘Ethnicities’ and ‘More Attributes’. Please note: if you are looking at a class or group you can select either one, you are not able to select both.

More Attributes allows you to view a breakdown of Gender, Pupil Premium, SEN, EAL, LAC or Summer Born. By clicking on each attribute you can include or remove these from your selection.

Time Frame will automatically be selected at 2017/18. However, you will need to click on the plus ‘+’ to select a Term to see the data for that period.

NB: The first toggle menu you can see is ‘View’. This will automatically select the current academic year. Time Frame allows you to select the time frame for this report. You can select from prior academic years and current terms.

Click on ‘Content’ and select your Subject. For Subject Leaders Report, you can only select one subject but multiple terms.

Click ‘Generate Insights’.

Once you have Generated your Insights report you will see a quick summary of all the details contained within this report. Following that you will see ‘Year Group Overview’ as a bar chart. This will show where your students are working: the default descriptors will show as ‘No Assessments’, ‘Significantly Below’, ‘Working Towards’, ‘Expected’ or ‘Greater Depth’.

These descriptors are taken directly from your Assessment Summary Descriptors, so will reflect the Assessment policy within the school. If the chart is grey it means that no assessments have been recorded on the system.

To change from viewing Attainment to Progress, click the drop-down menu on the right-hand side and select Progress view.

If you scroll down you will see an ‘Aspect Breakdown’. Aspects are the ladders within the subject, the pie charts underneath show how many assessments/milestones have been recorded against each aspect/ladder and you are able to click on each segment to view the pupils within the segment. To change the term click on the drop-down menu and select the different half terms.

If you hover over each section of the pie chart this will highlight the percentage of children who have completed that particular milestone.

Click on the three vertical dots in the top right corner of Insights. You will see two options to download a report and Help.

Downloading a report will download all graphs within that Insights report.
