Watch the video or read the article below to find out more about two-way communications:
Schools can decide to 'enable' two-way notifications between teachers and parents. An admin user clicks on 'Ladders at Home' and scrolls down the settings to this toggle:
Learning Ladders promotes realistic workload for teachers, protecting the wellbeing of teachers in responding to large volumes of communications. This is why in Learning Ladders, two-way communication is focused around learning, in response to homework, evidence or student reports.
When enabled, communication is easily managed using a 'Notifications' feature for both the teacher (within Learning Ladders) and the parent (in Ladders at Home).
After a portfolio, piece of homework or student report is shared, the parent can choose to 'respond' and begin a two-way conversation.
The teacher receives a notification within Learning Ladders, alerting them to a new response.
The parent receives a notification against the piece of Evidence, Homework or Student report, with the new teacher comment highlighted by a red number.

Teachers and Parents have a 'Notifications' button at the top of their screen, the parent in Ladders at Home, the teacher in Learning Ladders.

Each conversation is listed, with associated information about the date, time, piece of learning and message.
A Teacher clicks on 'Respond' to open up the conversation.
Messages are not an instant chat. The message is sent and the teacher or parent waits for a response.
The teacher reads the message and replies back to the message using the text box.
The parent receives a 'Notification' within Ladders at Home, marked by a red number.
