How to Edit Attainment and Progress Descriptors (Admin Users Only)

Assessment Summary settings enable schools to customise their own end-of-term descriptors (and colour of each) to use in reporting. Teachers enter their formative assessments against the individual objectives and the system produces reporting for Attainment and Progress in each subject, using these judgements.

How to Edit Assessment Summary descriptors
  • Settings> Settings> Assessment Summary> Assessment Descriptors
  • To change a descriptor for Progress or Attainment, select the blue 'View & Edit' button on the right of the page.
  • Select 'Attainment Descriptors' or 'Progress Descriptors' depending one which you want to edit.
  • Enter the descriptor and its code and, if necessary, amend the colour
  • Click the green 'save' icon on the right hand side.

Read the reason behind this in the article, 'Why we use 4 descriptors in Assessment Summary'.

 Default descriptors

The default descriptors for Attainment and Progress are shown below.  We encourage schools to customise the assessment policy to reflect the language used to refer to Attainment and Progress in their own school- this makes the reporting more meaningful.
