EYFS: Assessment Summary and Multiple Ladder View Reporting

EYFS: Assessment Summary and Multiple Ladder View Reporting

Practitioners in the Foundation Stage can produce the same, senior leader approved reporting tools to create reports for monitoring attainment and progress across the curriculum.

Assessment Summary and Multiple Ladder View reports create better conversations about learning, ensuring all children form solid foundations in learning in readiness for Year One.

Where does the data in Assessment Summary/Multiple Ladder view originate from?

The data shown in the reports is a representation of the professional judgements manually entered into the system by the teachers, either half termly or termly.

How long does it take for professional judgements to be reflected in the Assessment Summary/ Multiple Ladder View?

After adding a professional judgement, the assessment will be visible instantly in the Assessment Summary/Multiple Ladder View.

How to view Assessment Summary

Click on 'Assessment Summary' on the green navigation bar.

There are two reports available for teachers and senior leaders, either a report for a single ladder, or a report showing the professional judgements in the Multiple Ladder View.

To create a report for a single Ladder, use the drop down filters to select:
  • Year group
  • Class/ Group (Select one class/group or multiple)
  • Terms (select just one half term/term or multiple
  • Subject
  • Ladder
  • Ladder Year
  • Pupil Attributes
  • Pupil (Select one pupil, multiple or all in the class/group)

The first two tabs are reports showing the attainment/progress of the students in the selections made.

Each school's unique Assessment Descriptors(see step 4) for attainment/progress are displayed as a reminder along the bottom.

If only one half term is selected, the data is reported in a pie chart. If more than one half term is selected then a bar graph is produced.

Hovering the cursor over each percentage or bar on the report tells the teacher how many children have been assessed at that descriptor, creating opportunities for discussions about the attainment/progress of unique individuals.

To print or download a report to take to progress meetings, click on the three dots in the top right-hand corner of the report.

Senior leaders may request particular reports for students tagged with particular attributes for monitoring. Assessment Summary reports can be filtered by pupil attributes.
  • Click on the arrow next to 'Choose' underneath the Pupil Attributes selector, to view the different attributes in the system.
  • Choose to show or hide attainment for particular students assigned to an attribute.
Custom attributes can be set up by following the instructions in this article.
