Observations can be viewed in the Observation Manager.
There are a range of selectors available for teachers and phase leaders to view observations across different academic years, classes, terms, aspects and pupils. We are the only Early Years system to focus on both practitioners and Phase leader monitoring.
Practitioners can use the Observation Manager as a digital 'learning journey' to view all of the observations for one particular pupil by clicking on the 'Pupils' selector and selecting the pupil.
The observation results can then be refined by aspect:
There are 3 views within the Observation Manager:
1. Latest (The latest observations added for students in your assigned classes)
2. All Observations (All observations for students in your assigned classes)
3. My Observations (Only observations created by the user)
Practitioners can also filter observations by tag. Read more information about creating and using tags here.
Early Years phase leaders can support other practitioners using the 'filter by author'. Only admin users can make changes to other user's observations and this can be a great way to share expertise and scaffold practice of practitioners new to the early years.
How to Print Observation Selection
Please follow the instructions in the article: Print Observation Selection to learn how to print observations for a student.
How to Export Observations
Users are now able to ‘Download to CSV’ selected observations . Click Observation, then click 'Export Selection'.
It will export all ‘selected’ observations in a view. You can use filters to refine what is visible and export based on those filters.
This function is limited to academic year, default selector, and all links to the assets will only be live/active for 7 days.
Reports can be generated at any time to send a new set of links if needed.
